Unlock your hidden potential by developing time-management strategies grounded in
Self-Regulated Learning

Do you often find yourself using easy or unimportant tasks to procrastinate and find larger, important tasks constantly hanging over your head? Does rushing big assignments right before the deadline impact your grades and confidence? Are you feeling overwhelmed by your workload? Our Turbocharged Time-Management Strategies course will support any secondary or university student in developing the time-management strategies needed to achieve at the highest levels without sacrificing time for friends, interests, and sleep.

This course is for you if:

  • You have ambitious goals but your workload is more than you can successfully cope with
  • Your precious time is being wasted by procrastination or spending too much time on things that just aren't that important
  • You're working really hard but things seem to take you longer than they should, leaving little time for anything but studying
  • You want to be academically successful but balance in your life is also important

Course Description:
This course will equip you with powerful time-management strategies, grounded in the principles of Self-Regulated Learning (SRL). It has been designed to help you plan, monitor, and reflect on your learning; empower you with increased motivation, confidence, academic resilience and independence; understand how to apply 'just-right' effort; learn how to make good prioritisation decisions; and engage in effective short, medium, and long-term planning.
By the end of this course, you’ll have the time-management strategies needed for excelling in school or university and you'll see the process of learning - and yourself as a learner - in a whole new way. We hope you're excited to begin your journey!

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Develop little tricks and hacks to convince your brain to do things you might not otherwise be motivated to do - like study
  • Consider the role of 'just-right' effort when you're planning your work
  • Make good decisions about what to work on, when and for how long
  • Break large tasks into smaller pieces so that you can work more effectively and efficiently than you ever thought possible
  • Improve your time-management through targeted techniques

About your course developer:

Sandra Forrest has spent 32 years developing Study Skills programmes underpinned by decades of research in the field of Self-Regulated Learning, including her own doctoral research. She also draws on cognitive behavioural science and neuroscience to ensure the why's, what's and how's of learning are all comprehensively integrated into the strategies her programmes emphasise. Sandra isn't just driven by her passionate belief in hidden potential and confidence that a self-regulated approach can unlock that potential; she's driven by the knowledge that excellence is a habit, achievable by anyone who is ambitious enough to learn how to learn.
